Shirley M. Neideigh, of Aaronsburg, passed away Wednesday, February 14, 2024, at Mount Nittany Medical Center. She was 92. Born January 26, 1932, in Rebersburg, Shirley was a daughter of the late Harry and Marian “Wolfe” Rishel. She was a graduate of the former Miles Township High School. On February 9, 1952, she married William A. Neideigh who preceded her in death on April 27, 2000.
Shirley was a member of the Salem Lutheran Church in Aaronsburg. She enjoyed flower gardening, playing table games with her sisters, attending Grange Fair and feeding the hummingbirds. Most of all Shirley loved attending the sporting events at Penns Valley High School that her children and grandchildren were involved in.
Shirley is survived by two daughters, Lori Schreffler (Donald) of Spring Mills, and Wendy S. Neideigh (Mike) of Coburn: two sons, Courtney “Bart” Neideigh (Susan) of Aaronsburg, and Devon B. Neideigh of Spring Mills: two sisters, Lila Harter and Nancy Motz. Also surviving are seven grandchildren, Brandon Schreffler (Angela), Monica Schreffler (Jonathon), Shelly Beamesderfer (Chris), Dennis Neideigh, Tera Johnson (Scott), Aaron Neideigh, (Macy) and Derek Neideigh (Emily): one step grandson, Scott Allen (Stephanie) and his family, along with fifteen great grandchildren and one great great grandchild. In addition to her husband, Shirley was preceded in death by siblings, Janice Smith and Thomas Rishel and her two daughters-in-law, Linda Neideigh and Donna Neideigh.
In accordance with Shirley’s wishes, all services are private. Contributions in memory of Shirley may be given to the Salem Lutheran Church in Aaronsburg.
